REPORT ON GANDHI JAYANTI AND LAL BAHADUR SHASTRI JAYANTI CELEBRATION

Introduction

Our college celebrated Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti on 02 October 2026 with great enthusiasm and respect. The programme was organized to commemorate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi, the Father of the Nation, and Lal Bahadur Shastri, the second Prime Minister of India, while creating awareness among students about their values, principles and contributions to the nation.

Objectives

The programme was conducted with the following objectives:

  1. To commemorate the birth anniversaries of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri.
  2. To create awareness among students about their contributions to India's freedom struggle and nation-building.
  3. To promote the values of truth, non-violence, simplicity, discipline and patriotism.
  4. To encourage students to follow the principles of cleanliness, self-discipline and social responsibility.
  5. To inspire students to contribute positively towards society and the nation.

Programme Proceedings

The programme commenced with the gathering of the Principal, teaching faculty, non-teaching staff and students.

The portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri were respectfully adorned with flowers. The dignitaries and faculty members paid floral tribute to the great national leaders.

The Principal addressed the gathering and highlighted the significant contributions of Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. The importance of Gandhiji's principles of truth, non-violence, simplicity and cleanliness was emphasized.

The contribution of Lal Bahadur Shastri towards strengthening the nation, his values of simplicity, honesty and patriotism, and his famous message "Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan" were also remembered.

Activities Conducted

As part of the celebration, various activities were conducted for the students and staff, including:

The programme emphasized that the ideals of truth, non-violence, simplicity, discipline, self-reliance, cleanliness and service to society continue to be relevant in today's world. Students were encouraged to incorporate these values into their personal, academic and professional lives.

The celebration of Gandhi Jayanti and Lal Bahadur Shastri Jayanti was conducted successfully with active participation from students and staff. The programme provided an opportunity to remember the invaluable contributions of two great leaders of India and inspired everyone to follow their ideals and contribute towards building a responsible, disciplined and progressive society.
