Introduction
A State Level Seminar on “Shalya Tantra Practices & Legal Awareness” was organized by the National Sushruta Association, Karnataka Chapter, in association with Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bengaluru, on 20th September 2026 (Sunday) at the Sanjeevini Ayurvedic Medical College Auditorium, Hubballi.
The seminar focused on contemporary Shalya Tantra practices, standard operating procedures for Ayurvedic surgical procedures, professional activities of the National Sushruta Association, surgical experiences shared by experts, and legal awareness relevant to healthcare professionals. The programme provided an academic platform for interaction and exchange of professional knowledge.

The programme was graced by:
- Dr. Bhagavan B. C. – Hon. Vice-Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bengaluru – Chief Guest.
- Dr. Mohd Rafi H Hakeem – Registrar, KAUP Board, Bengaluru – Guest of Honour.
Programme Proceedings
The seminar commenced with registration and breakfast from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. This was followed by the inauguration and portfolio launching ceremony from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
From 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, a panel discussion on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) of Ayurveda surgical procedures was conducted, followed by an interaction on the activities of the National Sushruta Association.
A session on Legal Awareness & Interaction was conducted from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM, with Sri Vivekananda Paniyala, Advocate, Bengaluru, as the resource person. The session addressed the importance of legal awareness in professional practice.
Following lunch from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, the seminar continued with a session titled “Learning from Surgical Experience by Experts” from 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM. The session featured experienced experts including Dr. Akash Kembhavi, Dr. C. Thyagaraja, Dr. Satish B.G., Dr. M.D. Samudri, Dr. Shivaputra Balareddy, Dr. Pradeep Shinde, Dr. Sweta Tyagi, Dr. Sangameshwar Hiremath, and Dr. Poornima Jalawadi.
The programme concluded with a felicitation ceremony honouring stalwarts, including Dr. T.D. Ksheerasagar, Dr. N.A. Magadum, Dr. M.N. Hiremath, and Dr. Basavaraj Savadi.

The programme also facilitated interaction with experienced professionals and highlighted the importance of integrating appropriate procedural and legal awareness into professional practice.
