Introduction
World Environment Day is celebrated every year on 5 June to raise awareness about environmental issues and encourage positive action to protect our planet. It is one of the largest global platforms for environmental outreach, bringing together governments, organizations, communities, and individuals.
The theme for World Environment Day 2026, "Inspired by Nature for Our Climate, For Our Future," highlights the importance of learning from natural ecosystems to address climate change and ensure a sustainable future. Nature provides effective solutions through forests, wetlands, oceans, and biodiversity, which help regulate the climate and support life on Earth.
Importance of the Theme
The theme emphasizes that nature is not only affected by climate change but is also one of the most powerful tools for combating it. Healthy ecosystems absorb carbon dioxide, reduce the impact of natural disasters, maintain water cycles, and support biodiversity. By protecting and restoring natural habitats, societies can build resilience against climate-related challenges.

ACTIVITIES CONDUCTED ON THCE OCCASION OF ENVIRONMENTAL DAY -26,
Various activities are organized in the college campus to create aweraness and importance of Environmental day -26, compitations like including:
- Medicinal Plant specimens plantation drives with Theme as “ONE SAMPLING FOR ONE STUDENT” for second professional BAMS students.
- Environmental awareness Program and stage program on 5/6/2026
- Quiz Competitions for for second professional BAMS students on 4/6/2026.
- Competitions such as Poster Making with Theme of Environmental day, Inspired by Nature for our Future on 5/6/2026.
- Community initiatives promoting recycling and waste reduction and Healtheir world.
DETAILS OF COMPITITIONS :
Medicinal Plant specimens plantation drives with Theme as “ONE SAMPLING FOR ONE STUDENT” :
Over 50 students fron Second Professional and third professional students actively participated in the plantation program and planted medicinal plants, even Program chief Guest DR. susheelamma( Gynocologist), other chief Guest Metron. Drakshayani and College Chairman sir Dr. Mruthyunjaya N Hiremath, college Principal Mam Dr. Muktha M .Hiremath, and other teaching staff and Non Teaching Staff were present in the Plantation Program.
Quiz Competitions for for second professional BAMS students.
Quiz program was conducted to 2nd BAMS students, over 5 groups with 5 students present in all groups, with 6 Rounds conducted, all the group member students participated actively in all rounds, Rounds like identifying Wet and Dry sample Drugs, Pharmacological Round, How much you about your campus etc., Rounds were their , at lastly Group 2 and Group 1 won the competition.
- Competitions such as Poster Making with Theme of Environmental day, Inspired by Nature for our Future
Students of 2nd BAMS Participated in the poster presentation , withb5 groups the students presented the poster with different Theme Name:
1)THERE IS NO PLANET B,
2)WE DOING EARTH AS A PATIENT AND NATURE IS THE CURE,
3) RANGA CHIKITSA AND VANA – OUSHADHI , CONVERGENT CHRONOLOGICAL – THERAPEUTICS, 4)BUILDING A SUSTAINABLE FUTURE WITH GOOD CORELATION OF FUTURE.
5) INSPIRED NATURE , FOR FOR OUR FUTURE GENERATIONS.
Role of Individuals
Every individual can contribute to environmental protection by:
- Planting and caring for trees.
- Conserving water and electricity.
- Reducing the use of plastic products.
- Practicing recycling and waste segregation.
- Using public transport, cycling, or walking whenever possible.
- Supporting conservation efforts and environmental organizations.
